The Buttons Stop Here - Antique Button Jewelry By Rhonda Gurgone

I cannot remember a time when art has not been a part of my life.  Over 20 years ago,  I stumbled into jewelry making as a means to suppplement my income while pursuing a degree in Art.   I inherited a love for antiques and treasure hunting from my family.  This has led me on my jewelry-making journey.

The buttons have a rich history which to me, makes them more interesting and special.  Most of the buttons I find are approximately 100 years old and from the victorian era.   Although I do love the modern (after 1930) and early plastic buttons,  I occasionally use them in my designs as well.   Sometimes I combine the buttons from different eras in my work if  they look good together.  I do not era-discriminate and want to give the pieces extra interest when combining them as one.

Custom orders are available on the typewriter key jewelry so please contact me and I can work with you on your own design.
